Emma Hutton (*1987 London, UK) is a Berlin-based artist, writer and educator. Encompassing drawing, etching, moving image, sculpture, installation and text, her practice is driven by a desire to interrogate shifting and contradicting conceptions of fragility, especially in relation to gender, power dynamics and artistic expression. Challenging the notion of fragility as a subjective disposition, her works explore fragility as relational and interdependent – a relationship between forces, material and/or social infrastructures. She studied fine arts, design, practice-based research and art history in Berlin, London and Bristol. She has been a guest lecturer at the University of Arts, Berlin (2024, 2025) and her works have been exhibited at After the Butcher (2024) and at Culterim Gallery (2024), Berlin.
