Central to my teaching philosophy is the fostering of a comfortable and reflective environment, where participants feel empowered. I draw on my artistic practice, my studies (in fine arts, design, practice-based research and art history) as well as my professional experience in architectural design. I developed and co-delivered the Parallel Play workshops at the University of Arts Berlin, in 2024 and 2025: exploring playfulness and creative processes.

Why might we take play seriously?
What does playfulness feel like?
What does it mean to work ‘in parallel’?
How can play contribute to our creative practice?

With a focus on process, in Parallel Play we consider not just what we create, but how we create. Through playful exercises, reflection and discussion, we seek to break down the barriers to being creative. Play, playfulness and our ‘playground’ are central to our exploration. We look at the terms ‘in play’ and ‘in parallel’ and question what it means to work solo and collectively – and perhaps reframe the distinction. Drawing on principles of artistic and design research, we take a conscious approach to creating.
