Expressions of Fragility

Mixed-Media Installation, 2024

Expressions of Fragility considers what fragility is and how it operates in time and space. A layered composition, the boundaries between form, material and process and between research and outcome are fragile. Individual elements are found close to the ground, wrapped around edges, gathered in corners, held precariously on surfaces, suspended from above. A ‘gesamtkunstwerk’, borne out of artistic research, the installation includes hand-drawn notations, stitched drawings, sculptures of plaster and of paper and thread, photographs, projections and spoken word.
