Fire and Fragility

Fire and Fragility is a stop-motion poetry animation that explores the ways in which fire is both powerful and weak, dreamlike and destructive. Hundreds of charcoal drawings make up the animation. Each drawing is composed of fragile layers of charcoal dust on paper – charcoal itself being a product of fire.
